Neos client dominates Information Technology awards April 5th 2005 - London, UK -- Neos Interactive today recognised the epoch-changing achievement of The Dorchester Hotel in winning "Best Service Application of technology in the UK" at the 2004 British Computer Society's Business Achievements Awards, followed by their Head of I.T., Luke Mellors, being awarded 2005 "CIO of the Year" at the UK Technology Innovation and Growth Awards, at a prestigious ceremony in London last month. The Dorchester is a flagship client of Neos Interactive. The Dorchester won the British Computer Society award for its "In Room Technology Service", because of "the originality of its approach, the reliability and profitability of its results, and the level of usage of its systems" in competition with projects from leading UK supermarket chain Tesco, and British Telecom. The UK Technology "CIO of the Year" award was awarded to the Dorchester's Luke Mellors against entries from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Betfair, ntl and JP Morgan for his having "best demonstrated a willingness to innovate using products or services from growth technology firms in the UK." In extending his congratulations to Luke Mellors, Tassos Kazinos, Chief Executive of Neos Interactive, who supply many of the technology systems commissioned by The Dorchester, said: "This is terrific recognition of the achievements of Luke Mellors and The Dorchester in leading a technical revolution within one of the most traditional of industries. In 2001 they set out to place themselves in the vanguard of new personal technology. They found Neos, and together we have created an unrivalled suite of systems to fulfil the entertainment and business needs of today's frequent travellers. The Dorchester's greatest achievement may yet be to have changed the way hotels will have to think about their responsibility to provide as much for the technology needs of their guests as for their subsistence and rest." Commenting on the award, Luke Mellors said: "For a hospitality organization to win a national technology award is a great achievement for an industry that has long been considered traditional and not innovative and shows how far we have come in the last few years. To win two national technology awards in the last six months is something we are extremely proud of especially considering the depth of the competition. We hope that more companies like Neos will come to the front and continue to lead the progress of innovation within our industry.
